Cait a bheil sibh a’ dol? (Cahch uh veil sheev uh dole?)  Where are you going?

Cait a bheil sinn a’ dol? (Cahch uh veil sheen uh dole?)  Where are we going?

Cait a bheil thu a’ dol? (Cahch uh veil oo uh dole?)  Where are you (informal) going?

Cait a bheil iad a’ dol? (Cahch uh veil ee-ut uh dole?)  Where are they going? 

  • Tha sinn a’ dol dhan oifis. (We are going to the office.) (Say it with all the nouns above.)
  • Tha i a’ dol dhan oifis. (She is going to the office.)
  • Tha e a’ dol dhan oifis. (He is going to the office.)
  • Tha sibh a’ dol dhan oifis. (You formal are going to the office.)
  • Tha iad a’ dol dhan oifis. (They are going to the office.)

A few new places you, he, she, they, or we might want to go.

  • Tha i a’ dol dhan taigh-solais. (Ha ee uh dole gahn tie-solash) She is going to the lighthouse.
  • Tha e a’ dol dhan taigh-tasgaidh. (Ha eh uh dole gahn tie-tahsgee.) He is going to the museum.
  • Tha mi a’ dol dhan taisbeanadh. (Ha mee uh dole gahn tahsh-be-uh-nagh.) I am going to the exhibition.

    How would I say or express “nowhere’

    An àite sam bith is used with a negative.

      so would it look like

      tha sinn a’ dol… chan eil an àite sam bith

      we are going not anywhere

      ??? did I chop that up terribly.
