Talking ’bout the weather…

August 10, 2012

A quick review:

  • ‘S fheàrr leam a’ coisich. (Shar loom uh KOH-shich) I prefer walking.
  • ‘S toigh leum a’ coisich. (Stull um uh KOH-shich.)  I like walking.
  • Tha mi ag iarriadh a’ coisich.  (Hah mee uh GEER-ee uh KOH-shich.) I want (I am wanting) to walk.

And for something new today:

Ciamar a tha an t-sìde?  (KEE-mur a ha ahnt-SHEED-uh?)  How’s the weather?

For some listening today, the weather report in Gaelic!

Just found your site – was looking for extra practice for my students and you have some really useful material and tips, clearly presented and indexed. I’ll be passing it on. Mòran taing! ‘S math a rinn thu, gu dearbh fhèin!
Anns na h-eisimpleirean gu h-àrd, chleachdhainnse: ‘s fheàrr leam / ‘s toil leam / tha mi ag iarraidh a bhith a’ coiseachd, no ach ‘coiseachd’ a-mhàin, gun a’ /ag. Gu h-àbhaisteach bhiodh ainmear ann – ‘s toil leam ‘rudeigin’ – agus mar sin ainmear gnìomhaireach na àite.
