“THE” food

Previously, I’ve introduced some food. Here are some of the same words, and new ones, with the.  The takes several different forms in Gaelic.

  • an t-aran (ahnt AHD on) [Note again the use of D to indicate a rolled R] the bread
  • an t-ìm (ahn CHEEM) the butter
  • an t-uisge (ahn TOOSH-kuh) the water
  • am bainne (ahm BAHN-yeh) the milk
  • an tì  (ahn tee) the tea (the kind we drink this time, not the kind we eat! Well unless you put in a lot of
  • an siùcar (ahn SHOO-ced) the sugar

We’ll talk about the various forms of the….later.  I have to be off to work soon!

        Yes, I’m trying to learn gaelic but doing completely by myself is VERY hard…

        Go to my Learning Online link in the menu across the top. There are many, many sources there that are really helpful, to learn faster than what I post here each day.
