In the Kitchen

June 23, 2016

Sticking close to the food theme, here are a few things you might find in a kitchen:

  • an sgian (ahn SKEE-in) the knife
  • an fhorca (ahn ORK-uh) the fork
  • an spàin (ahn SPAHn) the spoon
  • an cupa (ahn KOO-puh) the cup
  • an sàsar (ahn SAHS-ud) the saucer

Some sentences with previously learned words and phrases:

  • Càit a bheil an sgian?
  • A bheil an sàsar air a’ bhord?
  • Nach eil an fhorca sa bhogsa?
  • Tha an spàin air a’ bhord.
  • Chan eil spàin san t-siùcar.

Write the answers to these sentences in a comment.

Today on my other blog, more on Hildegard von Bingen and her philosophies on food–particularly cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
